Dr Bex Harper

Neurodiversity & Chronic Illness Earth Coach

  Plant-Based Herbalist & Naturopath-in-training

  Artist, Poet & Musician

Bex loves being out in nature, exploring creativity and learning new things. A fan of permaculture, Bex values community bonds and growing organic food. Bex's current study focus is on naturopathy and herbal remedies.

After leaving a career in academia and training as a transformational coach in 2018, Bex moved to Southend-on-Sea, Essex, to be by the coast and to set up Earth Coaching - a coaching practice based in permaculture ethics.

Bex has always been fascinated by the outdoors and has been connected to nature. In 2018, Bex acquired an allotment and became part of a community of people who are interested in growing food and cultivating medicinal plants, which then led to a keen interest in herbalism and naturopathy.

Bex has also long had a passion for the creative arts. Having written poetry and performed music since their teens, Bex continues to incorporate the arts into their life and is an active member of Southend Art Club. Nature and herbs feature heavily in Bex's poetry, music and artwork.

Where these two passions overlap is in Bex's interest in how the arts and nature can be used for healing and emotional well-being. This continues to inform their Earth Coaching practice and client work.

  • Earth Coaching

Bex helps neurodivergent and chronically ill people conquer stress, burnout, overwhelm and disorganisation so that they can regain control of their lives. Harnessing the power of nature, Bex nurtures clients back to thriving!

Bex is now training to be a naturopath and herbalist at The Healing Garden.

  • Music

Melted Dice is inspired by queer and feminist DIY-punk, alongside cottagecore folk artists, taking a feminist, multi-instrumental cross-genre approach. Classically-trained mezzo-soprano vocals of politically-inspired punk lyrics are layered over a reverb-charged electric ukulele or cabaret-style piano.

  • Art & Poetry

Bex's art and poetry are influenced by nature, human interactions, and permaculture.

Bex's art is typically in the form of pottery, photography, painting or mixed media. They are becoming a fan of plein-air painting and loves to experiment with charcoal.

An active member of the local community, Bex's art featured in Southend Art Club's May 2025 exhibition and Bex also read poetry at the 2025 Leigh Folk Festival.
